GrowDwell is a free gardening resource run by Mehedi Hasan and Sweety. To keep the site running, some of our articles contain affiliate links. This page explains what that means for you and how we keep our recommendations honest.
What an Affiliate Link Is
An affiliate link is a tracked link to a product on another website, such as Amazon. If you click one of these links and make a purchase, GrowDwell may earn a small commission from that retailer. The price you pay stays the same whether you use our link or not.
Amazon Associates Program
GrowDwell is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.
We may also join other affiliate programs run by garden suppliers or plant retailers. The same rules on this page apply to every program we join.
How We Choose What to Recommend
Affiliate commissions never decide what we recommend. Before a product appears in a guide, we look at whether it actually solves the problem the guide covers and whether it suits small homes, apartments, and balconies. Specifically:
- We recommend products we have used ourselves or researched against trusted sources.
- We do not accept payment from brands in exchange for placement, rankings, or positive coverage.
- We mention drawbacks and cheaper alternatives when they exist, including options with no affiliate link.
- If a free fix works, such as moving a plant to a brighter window, we say so before suggesting anything to buy.
Our full standards for research and fact-checking are explained in our Editorial Policy.
How Affiliate Links Are Disclosed
Articles that contain affiliate links say so within the article. A short version of this disclosure also appears in the footer of every page on the site.
Prices and Availability
Product prices and availability change often and are set by the retailer, not by GrowDwell. Always check the current price and details on the retailer’s website before you buy.
